  3. Chicken one kg cut into 12 pcs
  4. 1 cup Oil
  5. Onions 3 sliced

  7. Tomatoes 3 sliced
  8. 2 packets Shaan Bombay biryani masala
  9. 1 cup Yogurt
  10. Potatoes one kg cut into big chunks
  11. Green chillies 6 juleine cut n deseeded
  12. Corriander leaves 1/2 cup finely chopped
  13. Mint leaves few
  14. Tomatoes 3 sliced for topping
  15. 1 cup Brown onions
  16. In a bowl mix :
  17. 1/2 tsp Zaafran essence
  18. 1/2 tsp Biryani essence
  19. 1/4 tsp Biryani colour
  20. 1/4 tsp Khewra essence

Steps to make to make Chicken biryani

  1. Cook rice in a big pot by adding salt 4 tbsp only till 3/4 done n keep aside.
  2. In another pan add oil, fry onions till golden. Add in g/g paste n fry with tomatoes n cook for few minutes.
  3. Then add chicken n cook till colour changes. Now add shaan masala with 1/4 cup water n bhoonofy it very well.
  4. Then add yogurt,give it a good mix n finally add in potatoes.
  5. Stir n cover n cook for about 25 to 30 mins till chicken n potatoes r tender, masala or gravy thickens n oil floats on top.
  6. In a pan put oil from gravy 3 tbsp as long with water 4 tbsp.
  7. Layer of rice topped with chicken n gravy, some tomatoes n green chillies n corriander leaves.
  8. Repeat layers n finally put rice layer, put color mixture,top with brown onions,coriander leaves, green chillies n tomatoes.
  9. Put on dum, first five mins. On high n then 15 min. on low.
  10. Dish out n garnish with mint leaves.
  11. Serve with salad n raita.
